Construct (2005)

Looking at the canons of Modern art history I have recontextualized artist’s writings and thoughts into a profane relationship, redefining the process of creation. I created a space that recalls the peacefulness of a place of worship, all the while calling attention to the profanity of this relationship. The sound element, a work written by a genius (Gertrude Stein) about a genius (Matisse) links the imagery to the concept.
